History

2007

Sharing the passion to make good beer and a willingness to bring this drink to everyone, in 2007 a ​​group of friends associate and create “Companyia Cervesera del Montseny”. A microbrewery located in the Montseny area and that has the aim to elaborate the best possible quality of beer. We can consider their beers as handmade because of its method of preparation, integral for the ingredients used and natural for the packaging system. To carry out its objectives, the CCM takes advantage of the english microbrewery Wolf Brewery that sales its machinery and the CCM buy it to start their own beer production in Catalunya. 

The machinery acquired consists of a tank firing (Boyler Tanck), a macerator (Mash Tun with drain quarter plates, wood banded), a water tank for conditioning prior to production (Hot Liquor Tank), three fermenters (Fvs Wood bandedwith internal cooling), a steam boiler (Steam boiler Gas), a cold team (Cold Chillerbox), two pumps to transfer the wort (Ebara Transfer pump) and many hoses and tubes that allow CCM to create an authentic English microbrewery in the Montseny area. With a capacity of 3.000 litres per production, CCM begins its activity in a warehouse in the industrial polygon of Sant Miquel de Balenyà – Seva (Osona). 
With Pablo Vijande, first brewer who had worked specifically into the Wolf Brewery with the same machines, theCCMbegins toproducebeersof Ales family, as is still doing the same Wolf Brewery. They are real Ales made in Seva (Osona) and that use only the noble natural beer ingredients. The CCM brings to the market three beer specialties: +Malta,+Lupulus and+Black and thanks to its good acceptance and rapid entry into the catalan market, the CCM decides to create a fourth variety, the +Blat, a light and refreshing beer. 
 

2008

One year after the establishment of the CCM and its successful development with its four beer varieties, one of them,the +Black receive the award for the Beer of the Year in the Fair of Jafre. A recognition that permits to grow its sales and makes CCM as a microbrewery referenced in Catalunya. 

At the end of the year, to celebrate the first anniversary, CCM organizes an Open Day in which hundreds of people assist to visit the installations in Sant Miquel de Balenyà. We can highlight the presence of sommeliers, companies and personalities from the world of beer and beverages in general. 
Finally, and with a desire to revolutionize the catalan beer market, the CCM launches two new beers: the +MaltaCuvée and HivernAle. The first one is a top-fermented beer, a craft limited edition and barrel aged in French Robres for over a year to be imbued with the flavour of wood and take this taste so hot. The second, Hivernale is a beer only for the winter, spicy, toasted (Brown), from the family of the Ales, which combines roasted malt bitterness with sweet notes of star anise. 
 

2009      

With six beers on the market and a trade capacity increased, theCCMis awardedbythe Chamber ofCommerceas abusinessentrepreneur. Highlights its ability to provide knowledge in a market such as beer and to capacity to introduce catalan, handmade and quality beers in a record time.

Shortly thereafter, the CCM launches a limited pack edition of beers for collectors. A pack consisting of the four varieties of the CCM with a personalized plate for each of them. It also includes an envelope with all the different labels of the different beers. Good response for the public because the stock ends in a few months! 
In a fair beer that was raised in Brussels, members of the CCM begin to make different contacts with several beer worldwide distributors. As a result of these contacts, finally in 2009, thecompany decidesto start exportingitsbeerinthe United States of America. They do it acompanied for Shelton Brothers, a prestigious importer of beer in theUnited States, and the CCM becomes the first handmade beer exporting in theUSA. The CCM changes its labels and incorporate “mironian” images. 
 

2010

The CCM adheres to various associations of the region such as “Xarxa d’Agroturisme d’Osona”, “Associació de pagesos, artesans i oficis de boca Osona Terra” and “Associació d’Empresaris Turístics del Montseny”.

It also participates in various fairs as the “Feria Alimentaria” in Barcelona, ​“El Mercat Medieval” of Vic, “Feria Láctium” also in Vic” and “Festa del Porc i la Cervesa” of Manlleu, among others. It also participates in InnovacatAwards for which CCM is awarded as one of the exemplary companies for their innovation and quick implementation of their ideas into the market. Shortly there after, CCM is introduced into social networks and creates the “ClubCCM“ in which individuals attach themselves to have certain advantages over other consumers. 
 As a result of innovation and the willing to bring beer into the most ecologic publics, CCM launches the ecological beer,called ECOLupulus. This beer is as the first handmade beer of Catalunya certified by the ecological organism which guarantees the naturalness and nutritional properties of raw materials used. Moreover, the demand for a specialized audience, the CCM wide the format of the beer sales and enter the HivernAle in a 75cl bottle. 
Despite the economic crisis around the country, the CCM invests € 130,000 in a new packing machine and two pressurized tanks to cope with the increased production. The new acquisitions are the latest generation machines used by most microbreweries in Europe. 
Finally, the CCM launches a new promotional pack in which there are four traditional beers and a glass of exclusive design of the CCM. A pack that has wide acceptance by the public to have a handy format and cheaply. 
 

2011

In 2011, the CCM participates in the ForumGastronomic of Gironathrough Osona Terra. The shelf of the association has a widespread media thanks to be an association of peasants, artisans and trades quality of Osona and that all together have first class products. 

To get a new collection of exclusive coasters of the CCM, the company startsa competition todesig nits coasters. Participation is still open to all public and, to date, have already received the first design participants. 
Knowing that drinking beer is beneficial to health, that can prevent diseases and, for example, beer is included in the Mediterranean diet, the CMC begins a program to consciousness the population. CCM relates its beer to the health of human beings and therefore create the campaign “CCM beerand Health”.To conclude, Companyia Cervesera del Montseny continues its involvement into multiple cultural and sportive initiatives in Osona. Altruistic participation in these activities to promote, encourage and promote a region that has permitted CCM to grow and develop.
