The Festival

Cervesa del Montseny goes to “The Festival”, an international
celebration of small brewers in Worcester, Massachussetts.

THE FESTIVAL is organized by two of the most important beer importers in the USA: 12% Imports & Shelton Brothers. It’s one of the most important international meetings of small brewers from around the world where only the best crafted beers are present.

This year we have been invited to The Festival to make a presentation about one of our most special and esteemed beers: the barrel aged pale ale style Malta Cuvée, produced at the foot of the Montseny mountains and neither filtered nor  pasteurized, is totally natural.

On the 23rd and 24th of June, some members of Cervesa del Montseny will fly to Massachussetts to present our beer. We are going to explain the whole experience from the other side of the Atlantic, and we are convinced of the success of Malta Cuvée among the most experienced and demanding beer enthusiasts.

Malta Cuvée is a high fermentation beer aged for one year inside French oak barrels. During maturing time, the beer draws the warm woody flavour from the barrel. It’s a beer with a very marked character with typical English Pale Ale toasted color and dense white foam. It has yeast sediment at the bottom due to the second fermentation. In the mouth is complex, warm and with a spicy touch.

The ingredients of Malta Cuvée are: pale, crystal, wheat and coffee malts, challenger, East Kent goldings and fuggles hops, Montseny spring water and yeast.

Cervesa del Montseny was formed in 2007 with the objective of becoming the best small brewery in Catalonia (Spain). With a productive capability of 3,000 litres of beer with each batch of production, our brewers like to experiment and create new beers for every season. Presently, we offer four traditional beers: Blat (Wheat), Malta (Malt), Negre (Stout) and Lupulus (Hops). Furthermore, we offer three special beers: EcoLupulus (Organic production beer), HivernAle (High fermentation winter ale with a touch of aniseed), and Malta Cuvée.
Our beers have the nutritional and health values of the best crafted natural beers without the pasteurizing process.
Now you can find our beers in the United States of America thanks to the Shelton Brothers; prestigious importers of fine ales from around the world.
